Everything has been going very well for SKR Rebel Racing's Team Captain.  With the repairs on Scott's Kart complete and the race set-up getting dialed in closer and closer to perfect each week, the entire Team is looking forward to this weekend's race. It is Race #9 out of 10 in the Utah Championship Karting Series. Scott sits only 163 points out of a top 10 finish in the point standings and his lap times are improving nearly every time he hits the track.

However, the weather forecast, for Saturday October 6th, does not look good. We have a 80% chance of precipitation with temperatures forecasted to reach a high of 42 degrees. Just like cities near the Great Lakes, in the Northeast US, the proximity of Miller Motorsports Park puts us directly in the path of one of the things that few people outside of the State of Utah are aware. The Great Salt Lake can and does have the weather phenomenon called "lake effect snow!"

This can mean anywhere from a few inches, falling in a short period of time, to 2 or 3 feet of snow on the ground from a prolonged storm. Although it is a bit early for a severe "lake effect snow" event... it has certainly happened before. Has anyone else ever been to a Kart race that was snowed out? We certainly hope that it does not happen.

We have our rain/wet set-up notes ready, however, this would be our Team's first full race day run in "the wet." Although we have run in some sprinkles and on a damp surface we have yet to run in a full blown rain storm. It should be an interesting day!

Nothing will keep us from achieving our pre-season goal of a top 10 finish in the Championship point standings! Our Team is ready to make a hard charge, over the next two races, to accomplish what we set out to do in Scott's rookie season as a Champ Car Rotax Challenge Masters Series competitor. So... let it rain or snow or hail! WE BELIEVE!
